An Oversight on My Part

Oops. My bad.

I forgot to mention that D and I were heading off on a short summer vacation which explains the scanty blogging and absence of replies to any emails you might have sent me during the past few days. I really do apologize for that but I thought if I told you we were going on vacation you’d all start whining for me to bring you back a surprise from our trip which in turn made me so concerned that I’d forget someone and hurt their feelings that I decided to avoid picking up any of those little souvenir chotskies and doo-dads altogether by slipping quietly and stealthfully out of town under the cover of night.

So really, if you look at this from another perspective, it’s less that I forgot to tell you we were going on vacation and more that I was simply trying to protect you from the disappointment should we forget, and unintentionally so, your surprise. That’s just how caring I am.

Anyway, now that you understand I had your best interest at heart, I just want to let you know that regular life will resume soon enough and once we have the bags unpacked and the sand out from between our toes I’ll get back in the groove of blogging, emailing, and starring into the computer monitor until my eyeballs buzz. And if by chance there’s a break in our action-packed, take-no-prisoners holiday, I’ll do my best to slip in a blog post to clear out some of the blog bulge that’s starting to accumulate in my head.
