Gingerbread House Bake-A-Thon

Why Didn’t Anita Post Today?

Date November 20, 2008

What do you need to bake 40 gingerbread houses? How about 3 bags flour, 2 bags sugar, 15 jars molasses, 12 pounds of butter, 3 dozen egg yolks, salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, 4 cans of spray vegetable oil, a dozen gingerbread house molds, and a constant flow of espresso! I started this morning at 10:00 a.m. and turned the oven off five minutes ago at 11:00 p.m. Needless to say my dawgs are barkin’ and I still have three more batches to do in the morning to finish things up.

i’ve been perusing your blog and the info about your church, and think this gingerbread house ‘social’ is fantastic. i’ve mentioned it to a few people over the last few days and my comment was, “if i lived in california, i would LOVE to be a part of that!”. alas, i’ll just tell you, “great job”, and i think the kids are blessed to have you as a part of their lives. will vote later on for M&Ms…happy friday!

Annie–>Well hop on a plane and come and join us! There’s always room for one more :)

Deb–> Brave? Insane? Brave? Insane? A paper thin line divides the two. And by the way, I’ve cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom and still am running into random pasty batches.

Mrb–> Do I know who Paula Deen is??!!! Queen of Butter and Empress of Mayonnaise. Hellooooooooo!
