On the Road
July 3, 2008
Just a personal heads-up that I’m going to be in Taos, New Mexico from this Sunday to next Sunday to attend a writer’s workshop with Natalie Goldberg to be held at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House. Aside from the miserable state of affairs of being away from D for an entire week (thank goodness for video ichat!) I’m more than a little excited to spend an entire week of doing nothing but spending entire days writing, reading, eating spicy southwestern food, and swimming in the Rio Grande. Please, don’t feel too sorry for me.
I’m still not sure how late into the afternoon or evening the workshop will run each day and how good the internet connection will be at the hotel where I’m staying. In addition I’m preaching the Sunday after I return home and so some of my hours on the mesa will be spend locked in bible study as well. All things considered it’s still my intention to be blogging during the week since I’m eager to get moving ahead with our discussion on sexual ethics but if my posts are a little sporadic for the next little while, that’s the reason.
In a totally unrelated and ever so personal matter: For the past week I’ve been in Oregon with my mom following a recent hospital stay due in part to lung disease and congestive heart failure. I’ll be leaving in the morning for home to spend a couple days with D before heading off to Taos and as always I’m eager to get home with D even while leaving my mom is never easy. I know she’s being taken care of in great style by my three older siblings but I just selfishly miss being away from her at this time in her life. For those of you given to prayer, I’d so appreciate any extras you have in you directed toward renewed health and strength for Mom, who by the way, happens to be as dear and sweet as they come.
Merci beaucoup.

Anita, Continued prayers for you, D, your mom, and extended family. I’ll pray for safe travel both home and then on to the workshop. Enjoy yourself out on the mesa.
I have been reading and re-reading your recent posts and I am looking forward to the next. Take care and have fun.

Definately adding my prayers for your mother. Sounds as though you are a lot like her eh?
