Saturday Silence
April 11, 2009
Yesterday the cross. Tomorrow the empty grave.
Today, nothing but silence, nothing but stillness.
Yet in the silence and in the stillness, something unseen and unheard is happening.
That’s how it was then.
That’s how it is now.
Wait. Trust. Listen. Watch.
Shhhhhhhh….

May God’s silence be a blessing so our wandering thoughts can rest.
May God’s silence sustain us so we can receive the patience to wait.
May God’s silence enlighten us with wisdom beyond all words.

“Be Still and Know that I AM GOD” My lifetime verse because it is so hard to do. I took a walk this morning, to the gym for the rest of my workout, there was such a beauty in the silence of nothing but a few robins chirping. As I approached the church a few blocks down, the bells rang out for a funeral. I didn’t know who had died, but I felt mourning – for a Saviour – as we wait for His Resurrection. Oh how wonderful tomorrow will be!

I have just scrolled down to this- having not visited the site for a while. This is my first post. I want to thank you. So much of what you say is relevant to my situation. The poem and the post above(on the website) is AMAZING! I am so grateful to have found you as a community. I live in the uk and so much of what you say speaks to my heart. I love God with all my heart. I have a soulmate who is the same sex. And Grace is something I am still getting my head around.
Thanks for being there x

Freedove –> So glad you visited us again and found something that spoke to you. And rest assured, for all of us Grace is something we will spend our entire lives trying to get our heads (and hearts) around. I suspect it will be a project that will last us well into the next life as well…
