Struck Silent in Starbucks

Date July 28, 2009

Have you ever had so many thoughts banging around in your head with so many feelings behind them that you couldn’t find a way to sort through them all? This was one of those days for me. I sat at my computer all morning and into the afternoon with the intention of adding a post or two but instead I starred into the blank white space of the post window waiting for that one thought that I wanted to say to come to the surface but in the end I wrote nothing….nothing but a few unsatisfying starts that went no where and ended up erased by the repetitive tapping of my finger on the delete button.

Maybe today was just the silence before the words.

So I’m telling you this because I just want you to know I was here today and I tried. And while I was trying I was thinking about you and praying for the comfort or joy or direction or healing or whatever else it was you needed today. Whatever it was, I hope you caught a glimpse of it in your day. If so, thanks be to God. If not, then thanks be to God that tomorrow will come, providing another day to hope for an answer to your heart’s greatest need.

That’s all I have to say…for now.

And sometimes it’s that silence that speaks to us more than any one person could ever say. Thank you for your prayers and for think of all of us. I know He will fill in all of the empty gaps in which we can’t seem to find the words.

Anita Don’t be discouraged. Just knowing that there is someone out there who prays for us–your readers, is such a great comfort and joy. You stand in the gap for us and that is an amazing thing to me. I really appreciate you. Thank-you!!!

    Anita,
You did come up with just the right post. It comforted me to know that you and others are out there praying for our needs, even when we don’t think about it.
My son-in-law got good news. After being out of work for 15 months, he is going back to work. He goes for the drug test today and probably will start the job early next week, after the results are returned.
My newest granddaughter is due August 5. We are hoping that she will come this weekend so he won’t have to be out of work, but he knows them, they know him and they know she’s pregnant. So that will be ok. Another thing is that her due date was the birthday of my late Grandfather. So it would a thrill for my Father for that to be the day she’s born.
We have so many blessings coming at us that we know someone or some people out there are praying for our wellbeing.
Jan and I will be helping a friend today, by taking him to be fitted with a scooter or powerchair. He has a hereditary disease, but the effects are sort of like parkinsons or ms. Someone has to go with him because his words slur and basically have to be translated by someone who can understand him. He can’t write anymore so someone has to fill out paperwork forhim. So please pray that he can afford to pay the difference in the cost that medicare does not cover. He only has medicare insurance.
Thank you all. And blessings from the warm (hahahot) SC coast.

Thank you, Anita, for your faithfulness. Sometimes we wait silently before the Lord. Perhaps it was not the blinking cursor nor blank screen that was set before you, but an awesome stillness in His presence where He brought needs to your heart and a prayer to your lips. Again, thank you.
