JaddedJabber--> You're welcome to crossing posting anything I write over on your blog and I appreciate you doing so. All I ask is that you include a link back to the page on this blog where you copied it from so people would be able to track the original source. Thanks!

Briar--> I understand not coming out for the reason you mentioned with your dad. Only you can decide what's best for you and your dad and I totally honor whatever anyone decides is the right thing in their situation because who would know better?! Cheers right back at you!

Susan--> I'd never heard that quote by Gene Robinson and I LOVE IT!

Word IN!

Thank you. I was nodding and Amening the whole way through. Praying for the truth to once again sink deep into the core of who I am.

Well done, again! Especially this part:
"...we have nothing to apologize for, but rather we are declaring the theology of our hearts; that God is a creative God, a God of surprises, a God of radically ridiculous and extravagant love, a God who on occasion just can’t resist doing the most unpredictable things while working through the most unexpected people."
Most of what I've been posting at my blog lately has been on my desire to see my church arrive at the conclusion that seems inevitable to me: we are *all* one with God. I sense it happening, incrementally, cautiously...but it is happening. And it is happening because I believe it is the Truth. And, as a believer in Christ, I believe the truth will prevail.
As +Gene Robinson said, "My gay agenda is Jesus." Mine, too. Thanks!

I can really relate to this. My father is a retired pastor of a conservative evangelical denomination and the ordination of gay clergy is his primary pet hate. He rants about it all the time – well, probably not as often as all that but it seems like it to me. I, of course, say nothing. His health isn't good and I look at him sometimes and know that I could never tell him; that I just couldn't do that to him.

I understand now that the way he feels comes from his upbringing and the culture he's lived in and not from God. And I know that staying quiet is something I'm choosing to do, probably for both our sakes if I'm honest, but I don't think that just knowing that, without blaming him or myself, comes naturally. Some days I'm there and others I'm not. Anyway, I can really appreciate what you wrote, Anita. Cheers.
