Weekend Links

Date June 6, 2008

  • Flickrvision grabs photos as people around the world are uploading their images to Flickr and randomly pops them up on this revolving globe. See the world and its people in your jammies.
  • Put your head on a Labrador and dance the night away!
  • I love this kind of stuff.
  • I wish this was a joke but it’s not. ::::rolling my eyes::::::::
  • A little wordplay.
  • Every little bit helps.
    .

I’ll be posting sometime Saturday. Until then try and stay out of trouble girlfriends!

Sometimes you it is just impossible to imagine what people are thinking. I wish that web site WAS a JOKE too. More of the ‘wisdom’ of humans.
I loved the optical illusions, great link. :)

Thanks for the plug, Anita. It’s amazing to me just how well-received this posting is. I am so glad you and I had the email conversation that prompted me to write it.

…and may you always find comfort in my interminable verbosity.

Eliz–> I know. I know. When I see ideas like that I’d love to know what was going on at the minute the idea struck someone as a serious possibility. Bizarre!

Bon –> I think your approach is being well-received because oftentimes the arguments against ex-gay ministries are painted with fairly wide brushes but you really dissect the whole thing and even if one weren’t to agree with your conclusions, the food for thought is massive in content. I know I’m going to be coming back to it in the future as I bring the conversation up on SisterFriends. Solid stuff.

Dissect. Yeah, that’s what I have been trained to do these (gasp!) ten years in grad school. Learning to be a very careful analytic philosopher. And even then, I have found a bit of a loose string in part of the argument that I really need to tie up when I get the chance.

And did you hear the comments about the “You’ve been left behind” site on “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” today?

Bon –> I suspect there’s always going to be a loose string or two since everyone reads and understands what we write from a whole other perspective, which actually, isn’t such a bad thing since the more we pull at the loose threads the deeper it takes us into thinking about the whole fabric, so to speak. Admittedly I’ve never been charted as analytical on any personality test….I lean toward the feeling intuitive end of the spectrum but between all of us here and at our various blogs, I think we’re putting together a mighty fine weaving. Whew….did I ride that metaphor to death or what?!

And no, I didn’t hear “Wait Wait’s” comments on the site because I download them from iTunes and save them for when I travel or go on long walks, but I’m going to head over now and listen just because the timing is too perfect! And….I think I saw a reference to it online at Collide Magazine or someplace like that.

As always, I am just so honored to be a part of everything. I think a real time of healing is coming. Can’t you just taste it on the wind sometimes? It makes me SO HUNGRY for what God is doing.

    God is just awesome.
