Weekend Links and Coming Attractions

Date March 27, 2009

Whether you read this blog in email or click over here regularly I want to invite everyone to stop by every day for the next two weeks leading up to Easter because some special things are in store. Beginning tomorrow morning through the following Saturday I’ll be posting eight stories that tell the personal stories of Christian GLBTQ women as told in their own words. In one way or another each will provide a powerful human connection to the events of Holy Week from the suffering of the cross to the boundless joy of new life unveiled in an empty tomb. I want to encourage you to find a few uninterrupted minutes each day to read their stories and then take just one extra minute to contribute a comment whether offering a word of thank you to each woman for the courage in sharing her story or to affirm a way in which their story reflected something from your own life. I just can’t think of a more perfect way to travel the road together into Jerusalem and Holy Week.

And then beginning on Palm Sunday, April 6, we’ll continue moving toward Easter Sunday with a series of daily scriptural meditations that will include ideas for your personal devotions along with questions for us to reflect on together in the comment section.  As more of you step forward and participate in the conversation we create together the more meaningful it will be for all of us.

Okay, that’s my promo. Now here are some links for you to enjoy! Click away….just don’t forget to come back tomorrow!

  • In honor of my sweet friend Amy who lives here as much as she does in her own home.
  • Fred & Friends makes the coolest stuff.

  • Shhhh…don’t tell my cats. It’s a surprise. And if I ever win the lottery
  • Despite our best worst efforts to destroy this planet it still remains a breathtakingly gorgeous globe (thanks again Amy!)
  • If you haven’t seen this video yet, then stop right now and do yourself a favor. This young man can teach us all with his courage and eloquence.
