Weekend Links
May 16, 2008
If you’ve been following my blogging patterns over the past couple months you’ve noticed there is no blogging pattern. When my head, heart and hands are all in alignment I write. When they aren’t, I’m looking for the best price on two-ply toilet paper and tossing the contents of the food pantry into a saute pan and hoping it turns to dinner. I also spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about you and what I could possibly write that could send an ounce of inspiration your way. Few things could give me more joy. That and finding a great sale on toilet paper maybe.
Let’s get back to my blogging pattern which is why we’re even here, stuck in this meandering post in the first place. I’ve decided that for the time being I’m not going to blog on the weekends. Not only do the stats confirm you folks are off doing other things on Saturdays and Sundays like breathing fresh air or getting a blast of UV rays, but it’s also a good time to give my full, undivided, and adoring attention to D.
For those of you who bounce around in browsers on the weekend I’ll be providing a list on Fridays of some of the sites I regularly visit or that I stumbled on over the previous week that I found interesting, inspiring, funny, or strange. And here now for your amusement or annoyance —
- Hill, one of our very own has written a couple thoughtful pieces this week at A Wonderful Journey.
- Lindsey continues to impress me with her writing and thinking at her new emphaticasterisk.com domain.
- Allyson provides a super on-point list on 7 Reasons Why Congregations Should Embrace the Trans Community
- 104 wpm. No errors. Come on wimps! I dare you!
- I spent 10 minutes here everyday. Get edumacated and help the hungry at the same time.
- If you’re a mom or have a mom this sums it all up in 2 minutes.
- I actually have this bookmarked though I have no rational explanation of why.
- A girl has to have a dream.
- And finally, where D and I will be playing tomorrow.

Ok…so how bad is it that I want an Airpoo??

Steph–>Did I want the Airpoo? If I did I wouldn’t admit it like some people who will remain nameless (see one comment up). And oh yes, by all means let’s take up a collection to get me a Vespa. I can think of no more worthy cause. Okay, yes I can. About 13,894 of them, but still, let’s keep it on the list, shall we? So glad to see the Free Rice link is working out for you
Hill–> My privilege. Keep writing great stuff. There can never be too many of us out here blogging our hearts out.
Cristi –> It’s not bad that you want an Airpoo, only that you admitted it. Scary.

you make me smile.

You go Christy!

Stephanie –> Do you really think you should be encouraging her?
May 18th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
AIRPOO!
I mean, what a patently ridiculous thing. *lol*
Thanks for the link, as always. I’m just happy to think that maybe somewhere out there I have helped someone feel less alone.
May 18th, 2008 at 8:18 pm
I try to be encouraging.
Like you said, “A girl has to have a dream.”
Plus, I give her credit for admitting she wants the thing, that takes some guts!

Well as a water and waste water treatment operator trying to protect our precious water resources I applaud dual flush toilets. However I think that any water savings generated by the Airpoo is lost on the heavy flush cycle. I mean really 10lbs??? I just wonder WHO they are building this for. As stewards of this wonderful planet that God created for us we have not been doing a great job. And water is our most precious earthly resource so I Poopoo on the Airpoo. Sorry girls.

Hello, my name is Cristi, and I REALLY WANT AN AIRPOO!
May 19th, 2008 at 6:09 pm
Eliz–> The Airpoo is only a satire on Apple and their unrelenting obsession with finding yet more and more ways to iPod this country, so not to worry about our depleting water resources. I’d only ask one little favor….please don’t tell Cristi it’s just a joke. It would break her heart.
Honest to blog, am I the only one who finds it a little disturbing that one of the posts that’s gotten the most comments is one on a toilet? Check back in on Tuesday…I’ll have something that I hope is just a wee bit more informative and inspiring. Well, maybe not for Cristi…

Anita-Look at what you started.
This sure is a lot of comments for a toilet.
May 19th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Oh, look at that. You already said something to that degree. Sorry.
May 19th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
What?!?! The Airpoo is a joke??? I guess I’ll just have to settle for a AirBook Pro then.
