ANN ARBOR, Mich. – As COVID-19 vaccines become more readily available, vaccination clinics are appearing throughout Washtenaw County.

Community members can get their injection for free at one of the many clinics hosted by the Washtenaw County Department of Health over the coming weeks.

Clinics offering the Pfizer vaccine are open to community members 12 years of age and older, but those offering Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines will only accept adults 18 years and older, unless otherwise specified.

Scheduled appointments are preferred, but a limited number of walk-in vaccines will be available during clinic hours, the WCHD website says.

Those who receive Pfizer or Moderna two-dose vaccines will have their second dose appointments scheduled for three weeks from their first dose. The second doses will be administered at the health department at 555 Towner St. in Ypsilanti.

People 17 years of age or younger who receive a vaccine must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Identification is not required for teens, but it is useful for the parent or guardian, the Department of Health website says.
