Joplin Health Department Food Inspections (December 13) | Local news

The Joplin Globe publishes summaries of routine and follow-up inspections performed by the Joplin Health Department. Companies inspected pass or fail depending on the violations found at the time of the inspection. These violations fall into two categories:

• Priority violations are more serious and relate to improper handling, storage and preparation of food. The Globe lists the number and summary of each violation.

• Basic violations are less serious and relate to equipment, maintenance and general cleanliness. The Globe only publishes the number.

A failure of the inspection can lead to various corrections depending on the types of violations found. Full copies of each report are available from the Joplin Health Department.

• Employee drink located above a preparation table (corrected during inspection).

• Beef and gravy dishes in the hot box are kept at a temperature below 135 degrees (corrected during inspection).

• The dishwasher does not disinfect dishes using heat.

Worden meat, 1442 E. 32nd St. Retail food. Routine inspection carried out on December 8. Results: PASS with 0 priority and 0 basic violation.

Blackstone Gastro Pub, 1521 E. Broadway St. Full service restaurant. Routine inspection carried out on December 9. Results: PASS with 0 priority and 0 basic violation.

Wilder’s Steakhouse, 1216 S. Main St. Full service restaurant. Routine inspection carried out on December 9. Results: PASS with 0 priority and 0 basic violation.
