School health camp organized by GHS Gabbar Budhal Department of Health – India Education | Latest Education News | World Education News

RAJOURI: Realizing the goal of holistic health and to provide high quality health services in remote areas, a school health camp was organized by Kotranka Health Department at Govt Gabbar Budhal High School.

This was the third in a series of school camps held weekly under the leadership of Jammu’s Director of Health Services, Dr. Saleem Ur Rahman and Dr. Hamid Zarger CMO Rajouri.

These weekly camps in all schools are directly supervised by Dr. Iqbal Malik BMO Kandi.

The medical team interacted with the students and gave them information on the benefits of a balanced diet.

Ayoub Lone, community health worker and Dr. Farooq Tatrey gave training on proper hand washing technique and the importance of hygiene for good health.

The health team also talked about adolescent health and menstrual hygiene in the camp. Menstrual pads were also distributed to teenage girls in the camp.

Doctors also examined the students for health issues and 44 students received treatment for minor ailments on site. Free medicines were distributed to students. In addition, laboratory tests, HB, blood grouping, iron and calcium tablets were also distributed in the school by the RBSK team.

The students as well as the teacher expressed their gratitude to the health department for this great initiative.
