Tobogganing is a fun winter activity that anyone can enjoy, including pandas! At the Washington, DC National Zoo, giant pandas Mei Xiang and Tian Tian had fun sledding on a snowy hill on January 31, after winter weather has passed through town.
Their fun of the snowy day was captured on video and posted on the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute Facebook page.
“Slides, somersaults and pure panda bliss,” reads the post accompanying the adorable video. “Good snow day from giant pandas Mei Xiang and Tian Tian!”
Oh ! So cute! People couldn’t get enough of the pandas enjoying the fluffy snow, and the video has over 116,000 likes and over 79,000 shares.
In the comments, Mei Xiang and Tian Tian fans expressed how contagious pandas happiness is.
“Quite how I feel for snow too! Donna Rae wrote. “Panda, you are my spirit animal! Let’s eat bamboo together and slide in the snow!
“Animals can be so much like humans,” noted Michael Slater. “And they are not destroying our wonderful planet. To see such a happy animal is a joy.
“I loved this one and just wanted to show the others to give everyone a little joy watching the pandas today,” agreed Jonnie Westbrook.
If you want to see more of these fun loving pandas you can check them out on the Smithsonian National Zoo Panda Cameras. On August 21, 2020, Mei Xiang gave birth to a little male named Xiao Qi Ji, and if you are lucky you may also catch a glimpse of him.
Of course, these giant pandas weren’t the only animals having fun frolicking in the snow following recent snowstorms across the country.
